Located on the northern boundary of Waterloo and bordered by St. Jacobs and picturesque farms, Lakeshore North is a great neighbourhood to call home. This area is only minutes to the expressway as well as many rural communities including St. Jacobs, Elmira, St. Clements and Heidelburg.
Lakeshore North features a variety of homes such as low-rise condominiums, semi-detached, smaller starter homes as well as large homes. This 
neighbourhood boasts mature trees and landscaping as it was established in the 60’s and 70’s, with many homes built before the 90’s. This older vintage translates into larger lots and several streets back onto an expansive wooded area with trails to hike and explore.
Just outside this neighbourhood, you’ll find a new retail plaza that has attracted a great mix of businesses. The new Sobey’s grocery store and pharmacy anchor this plaza along with small restaurants and various other businesses. Also, the St. Jacob’s market is within walking distance as well as the outlet mall and big box stores such as Walmart. Additional shopping can be done at the Conestoga Mall – just a short drive or bus ride away.
There are several large parks within this area, providing extensive recreational space. For nature enthusiasts, Laurel Creek Conservation Area is just outside the borders of this neighbourhood and offers swimming, hiking, windsurfing and canoeing. There is also a sandy beach with three picnic shelters. In the winter, this is a popular place for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Overall, the location of Lakeshore North is a huge attraction for many residents with its easy access to the Expressway, and the new Light Rail Transit (LRT) line at the Northfield Landing Station. This is the place to be if you’re looking for easy access to all amenities without being in the middle of the city’s busiest areas.
