Welcome to one of the most prestigious neighbourhoods in Kitchener-Waterloo! Located on the east side of Kitchener, surrounded by the banks of the Grand River, this area is known for its multi-million dollarhomes situated on large, manicured lots. It’s a small neighbourhood but has a mighty presence!
The houses here are all stunning estate homes with diverse architectural styles. You’ll find traditional style homes, and very unique, modern-looking homes. The one thing they all have in common is they are part of an exclusive community. Although Kiwanis Park borders both Kitchener and Waterloo, its location is very central, yet it feels like its own remote enclave. Attention to detail is evident here in the wide streets, street lights, neighbourhood signage and even the landscaping in common areas.
There’s plenty to do in Kiwanis Park even for those who don’t live here. For the past 50 years, tens of thousnds have been drawn each summer to the lake-like swimming pool and recreational area. This year (2018) the pool will be opened again after being closed for a full renovation and will boast a new spray feature for kids. The park also offers athletic fields, beach volleyball courts, playground, picnic shelters, nature trails, leash-free dog park, areas to launch a canoe and a snack bar.
Access to the well-lovedWalter Bean Trail can also be found within the park. This extensive trail system is a favourite for many as it is a great place to hike, bike, canoe and even fish.
